Beware when you utilize Verizon Wireless's Get It Now Applications. Most of these apps are those which are not affiliated with Verizon. If you download something, even accidentally, it's gonna cost an arm and a leg just to get it removed from your bill.
Just recently, my brother was charged over $65 for downloads he never made, right on his handset. Apparently, he downloaded an app called Sony Music Box onto his phone (during work hours . . . right, as if he had time to do so), which then proceeded to download 23 various songs, wallpapers, and such. He never did this. This happened in the past for Verizon Music Downloads as well, and we were able to get those charges removed (and the app blocked from his phone). I called Customer Service and they couldn't do a damn thing to remove the charges. We're not sure how it happened, and the customer reps I've called have no access to this information.
Now we're stuck with a $65 charge for stuff he has never downloaded, nor has access to, nor uses.
I'm beginning to loathe technological issues such as this one. As technology gets more complicated (or "advanced"), life gets more complicated. Can't we go back to the days when things were much simpler? When phones were primarily used for calls?
Long story short, be careful of what you use on your handset, who your carrier is, and what may seem suspicious.
